The car renting app that’s going away?
No, it’s not going away, according to Recode’s Kara Swisher.
Car rental apps have always been about getting people to spend money on your ride, but with the rise of driverless cars and self-driving cars, many of those trips now require an extra layer of security.
That’s because now that car rental apps can’t take the credit card, drivers can’t get in or out of a car.
But if a driver is distracted, they’ll be forced to use a pay-per-view car rental service instead.
Swisher said there’s also a potential to change how drivers get around.
That could mean that people could be willing to take a trip without a car, and not have to worry about parking for the next hour or two.
But it could also mean that a driver might end up renting their car out to someone else in order to make ends meet, rather than paying cash for a ride.
“That’s a little bit of a concern,” Swisher said.
“I think a lot of people think about how much they want to rent a car and how much it costs to rent.”
